16CRMO44/ DIN 1.7337 QUALITY ALLOY STEEL
16CrMo44/DIN 1.7337 steel is a low-alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum as strengthening elements.Similar to the Chinese grade 15CrMo,16CrMo44 steel has good process performance and welding performance, and has a high lasting strength at a temperature of 500 to 550 °C.Once the temperature exceeds 550 °C, its oxidation resistance becomes poor, and the creep strength decreases significantly.
16CrMo44 steel is generally used in the quenched and tempered condition.It is used to manufacture high and medium pressure steam conduits, headers, superheaters and supporting forgings.

16CrMo44 Steel Heat Treatment & Mechanical Property
Normalizing For 16CrMo44
1.Nominal normalizing temperature:840-890°C
2.Hold the temperature for several hours
3.Cooling in the air
Annealing For 16CrMo44
1.Nominal Annealing temperature:680-720°C
2.Cool slowly in the furance
3.Maximum Brinell hardness of 217
Quenching and Tempering(QT) For 16CrMo44
1.Nominal Hardening temperature:890-920°C
2.Hold at this temperature then quench in oil or water
3.Tempering as soon as possible when the temperature low to ambient
4.Heat uniformly to the suitable temperature of 650-720°C
5.keep the material out of the furnace ,then cool in the air
